About the National Equity Project

At the National Equity Project, we believe that every child has the right to a quality education, and we coach people to become the powerful leaders who make good on that promise.

We are a nonprofit organization of diverse and experienced educators deeply committed to supporting people to take on the leadership work of ensuring a quality education for every child.

In our view, working towards equity in schools and communities entails:

  • Removing the predictability of success or failure that currently correlates with race, socioeconomic status, and any other social or cultural factor.
  • Ending inequitable practices, eliminating individual and systemic biases, and creating inclusive multicultural school environments for adults and children.
  • Discovering and cultivating the unique talents and interests that everyone possesses.

The National Equity Project is a coaching organization.  We provide both comprehensive training and individual and team coaching to build culture, conditions, and competencies for sustainable excellence and equity.  We offer sustained, embedded support to educators and other leaders to help them make informed decisions and take more effective action in their work.

We work shoulder-to-shoulder with our partners in their contexts on their actual challenges; helping them plan and move forward while building their capacity to lead equity work more effectively in the future.
